Experienced Counsellor with over thirty years experience working in the Addiction Treatment and Youth Counselling field.


Previous relevant qualifications and experience

1993 - 1994 RSA certificate – ‘Counselling Skills in the Development of Learning’ at Herts. Regional College

1994-6 trained as a counsellor for Hapas [Herts Alcohol Problem Advisory Service].

1995 – 1998 post graduate diploma in Transpersonal counselling and psychotherapy at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust, Tooley Street, London Bridge

1995 – 2000 Youth Worker and counsellor for Youth Services, Cheshunt, Herts.

1995 – 1998 facilitated weekly group for young people being bullied, for Youth Services in Herts.

2000 - 2002 Receptionist Manager for Hapas

2002 - 2019]  facilitated weekly Alcohol Relapse Prevention Groups in Cheshunt

2002 - 2003 – part time Alcohol Counsellor for Probation Service in Graham House, Hertford

2003 – 2005 counsellor and group work facilitator for Young Concern in Harlow, Essex with age 11-25 in schools and youth centres, within the Youth  Offending Team and in Harlow College, including individual and group anger management and alcohol and drug support and education.

2003 – 2005 Community Development and Outreach Worker for Hapas

2005 – 2007 full time Senior Alcohol Counsellor for Hapas

2007 – 2008 Open Access Worker for Westminster Drug Project in Stevenage Herts

2008 – I formed the Herts Alcohol Counselling Service [HACS] to fill the gap left by Hapas. Hacs went into partnership with WDP and CRI until 2019.

2008 – 2012 full time PCT-funded 121 Alcohol Counsellor and group facilitator for Westminster Drug Project in Stevenage Herts,

2012 – 14  I worked as CGL Spectrum’s only specialist Alcohol counsellor in Herts, with a large case load of individual alcohol counselling clients. I facilitated weekly groups – an Alcohol Group for dependant drinkers working towards detox, a Relapse Prevention Group for those in the first few months of sobriety and a Recovery Group for those in longer term abstinence

2014 – 15 Recovery Worker for CGL Spectrum with a large caseload of drinkers and drug users where I also specialised in group work, including groups for drinkers preparing for detox, Abstinence Groups, and groups for drug and alcohol clients on probation

2019-2024 online addiction treatment centre group facilitator for The Farm Dayhab and Rehubs.

2015 -2024 Deputy Counselling Manager and Group Facilitator for The Living Room Herts.

2024 to current Group Facilitator/ Counsellor at TLR
